1) I had my dress fitting!!
2) My mom picked out her Mother-of-the-Bride Dress
(Chris's mom got her Mother-of-the-Groom dress too!)
3) I picked up two of my bridesmaids dresses for them, and I LOVE them! This was the first time
I saw the actual dress in the right color in person. The lighting in this picture is HORRIBLE...this
is actually a gorgeous bright clover color:
4) My dad and mom SAVED THE DAY by finding literally the last of the frames I needed for
our table numbers. Seriously, we went to about 5 different Dollar Trees around PA this weekend
to find the matching frames to the first batch I purchased around Christmas. Apparently, Dollar
Tree changed out their inventory around the new year. These frames are not in the black color
I want, but my dad is going to spray paint them black to match. More details on our table
numbers later.
5) And lastly, my mom and I learned how to make tissue paper flowers! I came across a how-to
for them on Dolly's Getting Married. The video was just pictures and I wanted to actually watch
a video of someone making them, so I found Arianna's video here, and this was also very helpful.
I really just wanted to know how to make these in general and wasn't entirely sure if, or how, I
would incorporate them into the wedding.
First, we practiced with some leftover Christmas tissue paper my mom had laying around:
So cute and super easy! |
I loved it so much, and it looked great up against the bridesmaid dresses! Then I experimented with different sizes.
Then I tried incorporating some cream tissue paper as well. I forgot to cut the ends on this one, so it's not as nice and I would try and have the green in the middle instead of the cream. But this was a good practice!
I have a few ideas mulling around in my head of how I can incorporate these...mainly for our rehearsal night..not the actual wedding. Again, not entirely sure if I'm going to use them, but if not..I've got some great bows for presents now!
Any suggestions on how to use these?

Wow! When you post everything here I realize just how busy our wekend was! And you didn't even mention seeing Mandy Patinkin and Patti Lupone at State Theater! (Unbelievably fantastic!). Loved making flowers with you.I can't believe the flowers we made out of tissues as brides to tape on the bridal party cars is making such a comeback.
I love tissue paper flowers, as long as it doesn't rain, of course! :) I think they'd be really pretty "practice" bouquets for the rehearsal or beautiful toppers for bridesmaid gifts.
Oooh, I really like the B-maid dresses. It really IS something you can wear again. :)
i think you know how much i love this :)
I love your BM dresses! When my bridesmaid dresses came in I begged for one because they were so pretty. My mom told me I had a big white dress waiting for me so I couldn't have one. :) Those tissue paper flowers look so great!
Cute! Love tissue paper flowers! Yours turned out great!
Wow! You've been productive!!! :) Aren't parents the best at coming up with the missing details!
Love the bm dress! I would really wear that again! The pom poms are super cute too!
I really like the bridesmaid dress! And good call on making a sample of the DIY flowers before you invest in loads of tissue paper!
You could use them as pew decor. Or to mark reserved pews.
Super Cute! I don't know how big these are but what if you used them like this:
