Hello! I have this lovely Monday off, and plan on getting so.much.done. wedding-wise! Chris and I had a fantastic weekend at my parent's house in Pennsylvania: time with family, celebrating sister's birthday, brunch with Grandma, and an amazing time at dinner with Molly and Mark on Saturday night!!
There is a lot of wedding stuff going on, and I have lots to let you know about in the coming weeks! First off, I want to show you our card box! Chris and I received a beautiful picture frame for our engagement party last April, that came in this amazing green and black box.
The box matched our color scheme perfectly and I loved it. I really wanted to try and find a way to incorporate it into our wedding.
So, I had my handy-dandy father cut a slit through the top, big enough to fit an envelope. He measured it perfectly, and cut a hole with a blade.
And viola!! We have a card box!
My adorable 15 year old mini-poodle wanted to pose with the box for the blog. Isn't he such a ham?? I love him!!
Best thing about it? The total cost= Free!!!
Sooo...does this count as D-I-Y? (I'd say it would be a bit of a stretch...)
Are you having a card-box?

If Shadow were wearing a green tie he'd match the box!So nice seeing you and Chris this weekend.I think it counts as DIY!
Beautiful card box! We used a white bird cage for cards at our wedding.
Oh I love it! And FREE makes it even better! I haven't even thought about the card box yet... Thanks for the reality check! :)
How perfect! I love it!
LOVE this idea! I was thinking about buying a hat box and cutting a slit too and you just make me want to go out and buy a box right now so i can do that! your card box is really nice :) i love it
Love the card box! Way to be creative and resourceful! We're doing a card bird cage instead of a box, same idea though!
Genius idea!! That's amazing that the colors match your scheme exactly.. I'd totally count it as a DIY ;)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cardbox and I'm so impressed that it was a giftbox at one point! Bravo hun! You did an amazing job turning something simple and free into a beautiful addition! LOVE that!
BEAUTIFUL! Now I see where you get your DIY spirit from - Mr. Uempke! :)
I think everyone should have a card box at their wedding - one that is incredibly obvious...none of that bird crap or a sack that people do sometimes. I can't stand having to track down the MOTB or FOTB to ask where to give my gift! Good job, Woods, good job.
This is a great idea! I love that it's made from a special box... free is always nice, but it's great that it also has additional meaning to it!
