Out of Town Bags Part II

I have already told you about our Water bottle labels and Hershey kiss labels for our out of town bags while I was on my honeymoon.

In addition to these two items, we threw in mini chocolate bars, mints, Nature Valley Oat Bran bars, chips, cookies, and these two personalized items.

1) Door hangers: Laura at "The Luckiest in Love" made our custom-made door hangers for the hotel rooms. She even included a post about our signs on her blog last October, which I have been waiting to share!

Laura then printed these on green card-stock. Here they are showing the front and the back. Laura makes amazing wedding items all available in her Etsy shop: Thoughtfully Designed. Definitely check out her shop for any wedding needs you may have!
I also made these information postcards which included our customized calligraphy from Deb Sementelli at Letteringartstudio.com:

I used a Fiskar corner punch that I had hoped to use
for our menus (it didn't look right) to punch out these corners.

These items went INTO these Green paper bags from Michaels which I embossed using a stamp I had made of our customized calligraphy. I ordered the stamp from Simon's Stamps. The first one I received from them didn't work so well because the grooves weren't deep enough and it kept smudging all over the place. I emailed them to complain about it, and they sent me a new one with deeper ridges right away at no extra charge! This one worked perfectly! I used the stamp in clear embossing ink, then put gold embossing powder over it, shook it off and used an embossing heat gun to make it raised.

All together, I made 60 bags for our 90 out of town guests! We assembled them three days before the wedding and then dropped them off at the hotel.
Assembly in the dining room

Good treats inside the bags!
All lined up and ready to be handed out at the hotel

In addition: Anyone who was not at my Bridal Shower (since they already got one there) was offered a handmade pear soap made by Dragonfly Soaps upon check-in (seriously, check out their website!).
I have to say the La Quinta was very helpful in making our guests feel welcome.

What did/will you you put into your out of town bags?

Everytime you recap on your DIY projects I get exhausted! You worked so tirelessly on so many projects. All the items in your OOT bags were great but the one that stands out in my mind was the informatioanal card with addresses and times. Very helpful in case people didn't bring their invitation along or just forgot when and where the wedding and reception were. Nice job, Laura.

They turned out great! I think OOT bags add such a special, personalized touch! :) We did them too and I passed them out at our rehearsal dinner (since we only had like 6 of them).

I'm sad I didn't think to take any pictures of them beforehand! I was so rushed for time getting them done that It didn't cross my mind.

Those door hangars are genius! I still wish I'd had time to create welcome bags for our hotel guests, but by the time I got to California the week of the wedding, I just wanted to finish the few important things on my list and then enjoy the start of all the excitement. Hopefully everyone understood.

That is SO awesome!
I wish we had been more organized; everyone was everywhere! Most stayed out of town and I couldn't see them until rehearsal dinner so it was a bit jumbly.
How awesome is that stamp you won? LOVE the embossed bags.

Wow! Great job! Just wondering about the stamp- did you have the company design the font or did you design it yourself? Thanks!

Saying I do said...

Deb Sementelli from Lettering Art Studio (http://letteringartstudio.com/) designed the stamp for us (I won a giveaway at weddzilla.com!) She was great to work with!
