Mixbook Photobook Giveaway!

mixbook.com
I've been a scrapbooker for many, many years now. I love scrapbooking...but lately, I've found it to be too time-consuming and overwhelming. I have soooo much srapbooking supplies at home and taking up space. I would really like to use up all the scrapbooking material I have, but no time to do it in and sadly, a waning inclination to do so. In the past, I've made online scrapbooks on Snapfish.com and have been reasonably satisfied. They're great if you need a quick photobook, but not so great if you like to be creative and feel the need to change or add anything special. What I felt was lacking from my online scrapbooking experience was originality and creative freedom.

Enter Mixbook.com who contacted me to try out their online photobook service. Mixbook has a lot of things to offer: photobooks, a wide array of stationary and cards, and custom calendars. I have to admit: I was skeptical at first. I expected Mixbook.com to be among all the other online photobook websites where I am given no creative license. It took me a little bit of time to get the hang of it, but once I figured out all the cool things I could do and change with this scrapbook, I was completely hooked.

I could add as many pictures as I wanted to a page (you can also upload directly from facebook), and make them as big or as small as you want!!

I had dozens and dozens of different backgrounds to choose from, and a whole selection of stickers that can be added for decoration! This book definitely took me a good deal of time to get just the way I wanted, but it was because I had so many options that it became a great labor of love, and was still quicker than actual scrapbooking. Plus, you can save your work and come back to it as often as you like, so you don't have to finish it all at once.

I decided to make a scrapbook of our Italy honeymoon for Chris' birthday which is coming up soon. They had a "Europe Backpacking Trip" template to chose from, which was great as a base, and then I could easily change anything I wanted about it.

Here's what they recommended for the one of the pages of my Mixbook.com scrapbook:
And here's what I did.
I moved the middle picture over more and got rid of the meal-bar picture on the left side. I made the other pictures smaller and moved them so they didn't overlap each other as much.

Here's the pages I did on our cooking class in Florence:

Here are 2 pages from Rome:

And the last page, our gondola ride in Venice:
One of my favorite features? A link to watch a slideshow of what you created that you can easily send to anyone!

It came in the mail very quickly and I can't wait to give this to Chris! I can't say enough about my experience with Mixbook.com and will definitely be making more Photobooks by Mixbook in the future.

In addition to their vast array of themes to chose from, Mixbook.com has a TON of already put together wedding themes:

Simple Wedding
Wedding Guestbook
Vintage Wedding
Scrapbook Wedding
Aqua Themed Guest Book
French Garden Guestbook
Bridal Shower
Modern Wedding

This sounds awesome! I love designing photo books, but have also wished for a program that gives me more freedom to move and change things. If I won, I'd make an anniversary book with my favorite highlights of our first year of marriage, including adopting our little kitties, who are about to turn 1!

I LOVE this! In 2010 I started making yearly albums because I hated the thought of all my digital images just sitting in the computer. This is the best I've seen so far and I can't wait to make my 2011 album the best one yet!!
