Bridal Party Entrance

Hello! I made some changes to the blog over the weekend. I had such a great response to this post outlining all the blogging brides of 2011, that I decided to make it an actual page on the blog. I've added quite a few more brides since the original post, and will continue to add to it as they come. So if you're looking for more blogs to follow, definitely check out the 2011 Blogging Brides page regularly!

My mind is a constant flutter of "what to do next" lately. I did get part of my bridesmaid's gifts in the mail on Friday and I LOOOOVE them. I can't wait to give them to my girls the night before my wedding. Our invitations should (hopefully) be complete this week and out early next week..(Ahhh!! These NEED to go out), I'm working on out of town bags, decorations and plans for our yet to be announced rehearsal dinner, table numbers, bridal party gifts, guest book, and the list goes on and on...

One thing we have to do in March is meet with our band to discuss our music selections. We have a handful of "must plays" for the night. Namely: "Shout" (I have a special dance for this song), "Single Ladies", "Don't Stop Believing", you know...the greats :)

But, I'm not sure what song our band should play when our bridal party is introduced. I've been thinking Pink's "Raise Your Glass" because it's a great get-up-and-dance song, plus it's literally saying "Raise your glass" which is, well...appropriate. When our bridal party is introduced, I don't care if they want to plan something fun and crazy for their entrance, or just excitedly walk in. But I do hope to choose a really great song for their entrance.

However...I do not, repeat: DO NOT want this to happen:

Did you do anything crazy and fun for your bridal party's entrance? What music did/will you play for their entrance?

The music is definitely something we still need to think about! We have absolutely no idea what we want to walk out to or have our wedding party walk out to....decisions, decisions. Friends of ours used Fire Burning by Sean Kingston which I thought was great.

LOL! great video! haha

We're thinking about music too - back in 09 when we got engaged "I Got A Feeling" by BEP's was what we wanted. Now it's way overplayed. So we must do something different but equally exciting..I like the Pink song too.

We have 7 pairs plus us - I don't think a different song for each couple is going to fly....I think one song would be best with a great reprise at the end for us to walk into.

We played snippets from a variety of songs for different members of the wedding party. For example, our best man loves Star Wars, so we played a few seconds of the soundtrack. My sister loves Green Day, so we played a bit of "The Last of the American Girls." It was a fun way to show off their personalities and have fun!

I feel so fancy being on your 2011 blogging brides page! I haven't even considered musical entrances yet! But my goal for the week (tonight, really) is to order the invitations.

Ahhh...life was so much simplier back in the olden days! I didn't have to think about so many details.I like the idea of snippets for each couple but don't obsess over it. Lol. Oh, and that video was such a good belly laugh!

Is it terrible that I can't stop laughing at that bridesmaid. Hopefully the bride has a good sense of humor. I am thinking about doing a funny song like "my humps" or something.

Music is something that I'm so torn about! But it's one of the most exciting things to think about - along with bridesmaid gifts that I can't wait to blog about!

LOL... that video is HILLARIOUS! It looks like it hurt a lot, though.

I wish I had the "grand entrance" figured out... that's one of those things that I'm going to ask my girls for help on at some point.

We have 9 girls and 7 guys, so I was thinking I would have the guys come in together and have the girls come in together and I was thinking that maybe the guys could walk in to "Walk Like a Man"... old song, but so fun!!!

You still have a little time for invites, so I wouldn't stress too much. I'm getting married 4/30 and still haven't sent mine but I'm really pushing it! I am getting them out in the mail tomorrow. If I have to stay up super late to finish them then I will! haha It's stressful but I know once they're out I can just take care of the small details and work on projects (like you mentioned to me)... all the hard stuff seems to be done. It's all the little things that seem super stressful though! :)

Your entrance song for your bridal party sounds fun. I'm not sure what song to do for that yet. My fiance wants our song (when we're introduced) to be the Chicago Bulls theme song. Dont ask! lol It was one of his only requests so he is getting it...
