My Dream Bridal Bouquet

I had an entire post written about our cake cutting for today...but my GD computer decided to shut down after an hour and a half and not save any of it despite me saving it..oh...about 25 times throughout the night.

Oh..and also: Remember when I said that I didn't explain my bridal bouquet to our florist that well and it wasn't exactly what I envisioned. Well I found it: The bouquet I really wanted. The exact picture of what I had in mind...too bad I found it 6 months later:

Oh well..I'll just dream that this was my bouquet.

And I'll also dream that my cake-cutting post is restored...

Friday Find: Recipe for Making Love

Happy 11/11/11!! (And Happy Birthday Smithy!)

My mother told me a couple months ago that this is her favorite video out of all that I've posted to the blog so far. So in honor of my parents coming to New York to spend the weekend with us, I'm bringing back an oldie by goodie here today. This really is such a cute engagement session!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! If you need to catch up on my recaps, visit my Wedding Recaps page here!

Wedding Recap: Bouquet Toss

My bouquet toss was quick and something I literally added that evening. I hadn't planned on doing it, mostly because I felt like most of my friends there were either married, engaged, or in long-term relationships. But when some of my bridesmaids found out that it wasn't on the agenda, they convinced me to do it. After all...it is tradition, I had a throw bouquet from the florist, and if enough girls were interested in participating....why not?

So before the wedding I told Gus, our band leader, that I would like to do the bouquet toss. He announced it right before it was time to cut our cake: Here I am gearin' up for the toss:

The girls get ready!
Look at that form!! Totally Matrix:
Look at that determination! Look at Maria (black and white dress) in the background!
In the end, my Bridesmaid, Mallory, wins the bouquet!! I think she had an extra spring in her step with those kicks on!

Did/Will you throw the bouquet? Was there anything you added last minute that you're glad you added?

Wedding Recap: SHOUT

Without a doubt, my all-time favorite wedding song is SHOUT. It has literally played at every single wedding I have been to over the past 3 years and it's always the best crowd-pleaser! I was super excited when our band started to play it.
I'm not really sure when, or how, it started...but one time years ago at a wedding during the "a little bit softer now...a little bit softer now"  part when everyone gets down real low...I just never stopped and ended up sprawled out on the dance floor with my friends huddled around me. Ever since then....it's just what I do at weddings.
At Kerry's OWN wedding when SHOUT came on, she interrupted the conversation she was in the middle of because she "Had to go see Laura's dance" .....it's that good ;)
I requested SHOUT to our Band...but the end of the night was nearing and they still hadn't played it...which got some of my friends nervous. Luckily, my friend Ashley marched right on up to them and requested they play it next.

A little bit softer now...
a little bit softer now....
The band kept it going for waayyy longer than normal....
and going....
Time to get back up!
And then, in a surprising twist ending, I somehow ended up into a rousing rendition of trenches with my friend James!
I was hesitant to post the video...mostly because most of it is just me awkwardly dancing, but this was such a fun moment of the wedding, I think I shall make an exception. This was near the end of the night when all our closest friends were on the dance floor dancing like crazy for the last half hour. Be sure to check out my mom dancing her butt off with all the "youngin's" in the pink dress in the back!

For your viewing pleasure:

By far....One of my TOP 5 moments from the day!

Busy Busy!

Hello! I am woefully unprepared for this week!! Between this little girl (who has a severe upper respiratory infection!!).....
I don't usually keep her hood on..this was for dramatic effect!

...my boss being back in town for the week, (boooo), and a visit to the 9/11 memorial last night after work (I had to order these tickets back in September and this was the earliest I could get them!)

Needless to say,  I am swamped with things! However, I did manage to meet Ariane from Storymix Media for coffee at the ING Cafe yesterday!
Ariane was just as personable and sweet in person as she was in her emails. And while I already love everything about Storymix Media, it was great to get to know Ariane while learning even more about this great company and all the exciting things that are in store for them! Mike and Ariane's passion for their product and clients is evident and it's people like them that I am so happy to have met throughout my wedding planning process. I have more to post about Storymix Media eventually, but for now be sure to check out their website!

Friday Find: Cute Flower Girl

Friday already?! This week was amazing and slowly killed me all at the same time. We are enjoying our time with Zoey and I'm trying to spend every minute I can with her, but of COURSE I had something after work every day this week! So I'm slacking on the posts.

But I still have a Friday Find for you all! This little girl is so funny! She is certainly quite the enforcer here at this wedding making sure everyone is quiet for the ceremony, even the officiant! She even asks the photographer to back up at one point!

Just WAIT till she's the bride... future Bridezilla anyone?!

Wedding Recap: Night Shots

Late in the night, our photographers took us away from the party for some night-time shots. These were taken in the same place as our bridal party pictures before the cocktail hour. It was just the two of us, and obviously everything looked different because it was at night.
I'm not sure if I'll really use any of these pictures for anything in particular. I feel like in most of them, I look really tired, and I've started to get that "I've had one drink too many" glaze over my eyes aka (slightly drunk). I remember them directing us into poses and just constantly thinking "Ok..what next? Where to next? Are we done now?!" We both really just wanted to get back to the party....remember my extreme FOMO? (Fear of Missing Out).

This is probably my favorite of the outdoor shots. I kinda wish I was wearing my heels though!
