Honeymoon Series: The Wishing Tree

This is a crappy picture, but this is our wishing tree. Our venue provided this for us free of charge:

I bought business cards with little hearts on them at staples. I printed "Advice and Wishes for the Mr. and Mrs." Using a font that I downloaded (I'll have to let you know the name of it later!) but I got it on dafonts.com

Then I punched holes in each of them, and cut green and white twine to put in the holes:

Then I arranged them in a basket:

Next to the basket, I put this sign:

The poem reads:

WISHING TREE
As we begin our new journey
a brand new Mr. and Mrs.
We could surely use
your advise and wishes.

Share with us your wisdom
about marriage, love & life,
The secret to being a good husband
or top-notch first-rate wife.

Jot down a memory
a reminder of our day.
A doodle or picture will do
if you don't know what to say.

Please don't forget, it would be such a shame
Don't hang your wish on our tree,
without signing your name.

What ever you pen, we're sure to treasure
long after this day has passed,
your words will bring us pleasure.

I like the idea of a Wishing Tree. I barely got to see it though at the wedding. Now you can do a whold series on scrapbooking the wishes when you get back from your honeymoon.

I had a question for you about the wishing tree. What are your plans for all of the little tags that people wrote well wishes on? I am really wanting to do this but wasn't sure what to do with all of the wish tags afterwards and I don't want to create a project for myself if I just plan on doing nothing with it after the wedding. Thanks so much for all of your great posts!

Thank you so much for getting back to me! What a cute idea for the tags! I would have never even thought of something like that. I was thinking about turning them into a small book or maybe even scrap booking them. That would be amazing if I could get some of the tags. I was just looking on Etsy to see how much people charge and they are kind of pricey, so I was going to do them myself. Let me know about those for sure. My email address is mdvervaecke@hotmail.com if you would like to personally message me. Thank you so much for all of your help and congrats on your marriage. I can't wait to hear more about it!

I was married almost 3 years ago, and still have all the wish tree tags. My goal has been to turn those tags into a special project that will be something to help us remember our special day and all our loved ones who celebrated with us. I have the same question that Megan asked and was curious what ideas you had for turning all those wishes into something great. Thank you so much for your great page!
