Quite a lot has happened since I started "Saying 'I do'" two years ago. For one...I got married...obviously. But it's crazy to me the road that has led me here. I have blogged for Theknot.com, Get Married's Blogger Brides, and Weddzilla. Former Editor-in-Chief of the Weddzilla blog, Heather Walrath, asked me along for her interview with Blog Talk Radio, Our Save-the-dates were featured on Weddingoftheseason.com, as well as on Weddingbee.com's "Bio of the Week". I have over 100 followers, and 150 subscribers...a far cry from my initial reader which was, well...mom. I've done a few giveaways, have recapped 7 other weddings we've been to (and I have 5 more coming up next year!) I've met fabulous bloggers who are just as into weddings and planning their weddings as I am, and have build up quite a community of over 100 brides on my Blogging Brides page. What started as an outlet to share my wedding planning with my parents in Pennsylvania grew into so much more.
So where am I going from here? Blogging has slowed for the summer, but I swear I'm still here talking away about weddings and everything that comes with them. I have over 35 wedding recaps that I'm currently working on so get ready! Between recapping my own wedding and all the other weddings we have coming up...I have quite a lot of material that I still wish to share. I'm sure I'll pepper in some newlywed things here and there, and we'll see where things go in the next year. But for now, I'm here still loving weddings and everything that goes with them, and still eager to write about them!
Yay Weddings!
Tomorrow I have an AMAZING Giveaway from Mixbook.com in honor of the blog's birthday. Please be sure to visit back and enter to win!
Also: I got our pictures and now wedding recaps start on MONDAY!
This summer is just FULL of anniversaries, birthdays and celebrations!!
One year ago today, I started this blog with this first entry! It's kind of funny to read now. Back then, I didn't put nearly as much time and effort into my posts as I do now. Believe me, when I started this blog, I never expected to love it as much as I do. I enjoy sharing this process with others, as well as having a step by step documentation for me to look back on. I have learned SO MUCH about blogging over the past year and how interesting and huge the blogging world is!
I am very thankful for my loyal readers (hi mom!), my friends and family who follow this and some fellow wedding blogger friends I've made along the way! You all have traveled with me over the past year as Chris and I set the date, you also were with me as I started looking for my dress, then when I finally found my dress! You were there for me through my proposal video addiction, (Molly remembers that time well. She'd come out of her room at 2am to find me crying in the living room after watching these videos for hours), this was followed by my video save-the-date addiction. Then there was the arduous, but fun, task of looking for a band and a photographer at the same time. Those were a crazy busy few weeks, but in the end we were very confident in our decision. You were with us through registering, choosing my bridesmaid dresses, engagement party 1, engagement party 2,our one year engage-aversary, and now here we are one year later, and life is looking pretty darn good for me right now!
I'm excited to continue blogging up to, and including, our big day and so thankful for people who have supported and encouraged me to continue blogging through this process, it has been so fulfilling to me. I also feel like I have more and more to talk about every day as we get closer to May. There is just so much to do all of a sudden!!
