Congratulations to Mal and Eric!

These two crazy cats got engaged the night before I left for Disney and I did not have a chance until now to post about it! I've known Mal since I was two years old, and we have been through a lot together through the years: Pre-K, elementary school (her mom was my first grade teacher), Jr. High, High school...sniper vodka... ;). I adore Eric and am so happy that we're "stuck" with him for good! Eric proposed to Mal in Charleston, South Carolina while they were away on a romantic vacation, with plans to meet up with friends on Saturday night. He took Mal to a restaurant where 4 years ago, was the first place they had ever said "I love you" to each other.

Mal wrote:
Eric was insistent on stopping at the Bowhicket Marina for a drink, but when we got there, it was still during the day so it was less of a dive-bar and more of a family restaurant. He pulled me through the restaurant and we started walking on the docks where all the boats are, but I noticed he was pulling me away from everyone else. Then all of a sudden he slowed down.

He stopped and looked at me and said "I have a confession to make." and my HEART STOPPED. I was like oh no what is he going to say!!! But then he continued by saying... "Ashley and Joe aren't coming...I brought you here for another reason...because 3 years ago this was were I first said I love you and this was where I knew I wanted to ask you...  (gets down on one knee) will you marry me?!"
What an unbelievably sweet, and amazing proposal story! I am so excited for one of my favorite couples and can't wait for festivities to begin for what I'm sure will be a memorable, and epic, wedding.

Mal told me about a very interesting thing that Eric had done with her ring before proposing. Eric's jeweler had real, professional, high-res photos of the ring taken for Mal to have as a keepsake. Isn't that a great idea? Check out how gorgeous this ring is.

Well done Eric, well done! Here it is in action on Mal's hand:
P.S. Mal caught the bouquet at our wedding, so I can't help but think that we had something to do with this. Just saying ;)

And just like that, another wedding begins! :)

Friday Find: Recipe for Making Love

Happy 11/11/11!! (And Happy Birthday Smithy!)

My mother told me a couple months ago that this is her favorite video out of all that I've posted to the blog so far. So in honor of my parents coming to New York to spend the weekend with us, I'm bringing back an oldie by goodie here today. This really is such a cute engagement session!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! If you need to catch up on my recaps, visit my Wedding Recaps page here!

Friday Find: Scary Proposal

Is it Friday already?! Today's "Friday Find" is just mean. Lucky for this guy, his girl clearly has a sense of humor because I'm not sure I would be so forgiving. Although...perhaps having a new shiny ROCK on her finger was enough of a distraction from how angry she could have been!

Congratulations Molly and Mark!

My dear friend, former roommate, and bridesmaid, Molly, got engaged on Saturday to her boyfriend...excuse me, fiancé Mark!! (Molly: Still sounds surreal, right?!)

Mark romantically proposed while they were on a walk at a nature preserve near Molly's house in Pennsylvania. After taking a picture of her near a very meaningful tree (it had been planted after her Nana's passing a few years ago), he got one on knee to take another picture "at a different angle". However, once the camera went down, Molly quickly started to realize what was happening. Molly asked him if he was serious, and was this really happening?? (Which was my same reaction when Chris proposed to me, haha!) But she of course happily said "YES" once it all sunk in!

Here's the happy girl right after he proposed...how cute and happy is she?!?!
After the proposal, they went back to Molly's parent's house where not only was her family waiting for them, but also Mark's family who had driven in from Staten Island to celebrate the occasion! Oh, and in case you're wondering (I know you all are) the ring is seriously gorgeous. Kudos to you Mark, on a fantastic proposal, ring, and not to mention...choice of your future wife!

Congratulations you two! I'm soooo happy and excited to be a part of the wedding, which sounds like it might be happening THIS coming summer!! The 2011 weddings are just piling up (4 now!) and I could NOT be more excited!
